Texas Excellence Cheer Makeup Tutorial: Hot Pink + Sparkle

This look is bright, confident, and perfect for the mat. You’ll see a hot pink eyeshadow layered with glitter, a soft glow on the cheeks, and a Barbie pink matte lip. There are two versions below: one for Exhibition & Tiny Teams and one for everyone else. Grab your makeup and follow along step by step.

What You’ll Need

• Performance Eyeshadow Primer for Cheer & Dance (strongly recommended)
• Setting powder (optional)
• Dual-ended eyeshadow brush (fluffy + dome)
• Custom Texas Excellence Eyeshadow Palette with:
  • “Cotton Candy” soft pink eyeshadow
  • “Pink Blaze” hot pink eyeshadow
  • "Diamond Dust" glitter eyeshadow
  • "Seafoam Shimmer" eyeshadow (inner-corner highlight)
• Blush highlighter or glow highlighter
• Mascara
• BB cream, tinted hydrator, and/or foundation (optional)
• Contour (optional)
• Matte Liquid Lipstick in Barbie Pink
• Magnetic lashes for Cheer & Dance (optional)
• Makeup setting spray, Q-tips, baby wipes

Look 1: Exhibition & Tiny Teams

1. Dust a light layer of setting powder under the eyes to catch fallout.
2. Apply a thin layer of clear eyeshadow primer to lids for a smooth base.
3. With the dome end of your brush, press hot pink eyeshadow across the lower eyelid up to the crease. Build color until it’s solid and bright. Repeat on the other eye.
4. Flip to the fluffy end and soften the edges along the crease and corners.
5. Sweep away any fallout with your setting powder or use a baby wipe.
6. For glitter: dot a little primer on the back of your hand, tap into Diamond Dust, then press glitter over the hot pink. Add a second light layer for extra sparkle while keeping the pink vivid underneath.
7. Mist your blush brush with setting spray, let it dry about a minute, then sweep your blush highlighter across the cheeks toward the hairline.
8. Apply two coats of mascara.
9. Wipe lips clean and dry. Line, then fill with a thin coat of Matte Liquid Lipstick (Barbie Pink). Let it fully dry. Do not top with balm or gloss so it stays transfer-proof.

Finished look: a bright pink, sparkly eye with a soft glow and a bold Barbie pink lip.

Look 2: All Other Teams

1. Start with a touch of BB cream. You’ll perfect base later after eyes.
2. Apply clear eyeshadow primer across the entire lid.
3. With the fluffy end of your brush, sweep Soft Pink (Cotton Candy) through the crease and slightly upward.
4. Flip to the dome end and press Pink Blaze across the lower lid and into the start of the crease. Build coverage.
5. Blend the hot pink into the soft pink for a smooth ombré look.
6. Glitter time: dab primer on your hand, tap into Diamond Dust, and press over the pink. Add a second light coat if you want extra sparkle while keeping the hot pink pop.
7. Inner-corner highlight: fluff the tip of a Q-tip, dip into Seafoam Shimmer, and swirl gently at the inner corner near the tear duct.
8. Perfect your base with Tinted Hydrator and your favorite foundation.
9. Optional contour: along cheekbones, forehead, and jawline to add shape.
10. Mist your blush brush with setting spray, then sweep Glow Highlighter across the center of the cheeks toward the hairline.
11. Add two coats of mascara and touch up brows.
12. Magnetic lashes (optional): apply after mascara dries. See the lash tutorial below.
13. Lips: wipe clean and dry. Line, then fill with a thin coat of Matte Liquid Lipstick (Barbie Pink). Let it fully dry. Skip gloss or balm to keep it smudge-proof.

Finished look: a blended hot pink ombré with glitter, soft inner-corner glow, and a long-wear Barbie pink lip that stands out under bright lights.
