How to Create the Elite Athletics Look

We worked with Cynthia to produce a step-by-step tutorial for this smokey halo eye. Whether you’re a cheer mom or an athlete, this guide makes achieving the Elite Athletics look simple and stress-free.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Prime for Perfection: Apply an eyeshadow primer or your favorite concealer/foundation to lock in your look.
2. Create a Smooth Base: Sweep the lightest shade across your entire lid with a fluffy brush for a seamless canvas.
3. Add Purple Haze: Blend the shimmery purple into your crease with the fluffy end of a dual-ended brush. Build intensity gradually for a soft, smokey effect.
4. Define with Dark Purple: Pack the dark purple shadow into your outer corner in a triangle shape. Blend any leftover shadow into the inner corner, leaving the tear duct bare.
5. Pop with Teal: Pat the teal paint pot onto the center of your lid, then layer the shimmery teal shadow on top for max pigment.
6. Blend for Dimension: Blend the dark purple shadow into the outer corner and toward the teal for a smooth gradient. Use any leftover shadow to blend the inner corner toward the teal.
7. Halo Effect Underneath: Press the teal paint pot onto the center of your lower lash line with a flat brush. Blend the inner and outer corners with dark purple shadow to create a halo effect.
8. Highlight & Sparkle: Dab white highlighter into your tear duct and blend it upward. Press the silver sparkle shadow onto the center of your lid for a subtle glow.
9. Line and Define: Add black eyeliner for definition and two coats of mascara. For extra drama, pop on your favorite falsies.
10. Contour and Glow: Sweep contour along your cheekbones, blending up toward your hairline. Add blush for a rosy glow and finish with highlighter on your cheekbones for instant radiance.
11. Perfect Your Lips: Prep your lips and apply matte liquid lipstick for a bold, smudge-proof finish. Skip gloss or balm to keep it transfer-proof.
