In this tutorial, I’m walking you through the full Texas Dynasty Cheer Makeup Look. This look is designed to show clearly on the mat, hold up through full routines, and shine under competition lighting.

Eye Prep

Start by prepping your eyes with a few optional steps. Apply a thin layer of eyeshadow primer across the eyelid to help lock in the eyeshadow.

Next, lightly dust loose setting powder under the eyes. This helps catch any fallout and makes cleanup quick and easy later.

Eyeshadow Look

Begin with a cream-colored eyeshadow and use a fluffy brush to sweep it across the eyelid for a smooth base.

Next, use a blue shimmer eyeshadow with a dome-shaped brush and apply it to the outer corner of the eye in a V shape.

Using a clean dome-shaped brush, press a medium brown eyeshadow into the crease. Switch to a fluffy brush and blend the color through the crease to soften it.

Add a pop of blue shimmer to the center of the lid using your fingertip, focusing slightly toward the outer corner.

Layer more of the brown eyeshadow over the blue in the outer corner to create a smokey effect. Use a fluffy brush to blend the blue and brown together and soften the transition.

Pro Tip: For a sharp smokey edge, line your finger from the outer corner of your eye toward the end of your eyebrow while pressing in the shadow.

Glitter & Liner

Now apply the silver glitter eyeshadow. Start by placing a small dab of clear eyeshadow primer on the back of your hand and swirling it around.

Using your fingertip with the primer, apply the glitter to the inner corner of the eye and toward the center, meeting the blue shimmer. Continue layering until the inner lid has an even coat. A Q-tip works great for hard-to-reach areas.

Gently tap a little more blue shimmer onto the center of the lid for a smooth transition.

Apply black eyeliner along the upper lash line and lightly underneath the eye.

To line the lower eye with blue shimmer, spray a liner brush with setting spray before picking up the color. This helps the eyeshadow glide on smoothly and limits fallout, especially for sensitive eyes.

Touch up the blue or brown eyeshadow if needed.

Mascara & Cleanup

Apply two coats of mascara for added volume.

If you applied powder under your eyes earlier, sweep it away now along with any fallout. If extra glitter sticks to the skin, add a bit more setting powder and sweep it away, or use a Q-tip to lift it off gently.

Face Makeup

Apply contour to the cheekbones using a stiff angled brush, focusing the color along the top edge of the cheekbones and blending upward toward the hairline.

Add blush to the center of the cheeks and blend it along the cheekbones toward the hairline.

Finish with highlighter on the tops of the cheekbones. A triangle powder puff works well for application. For extra shine, spray a little setting spray onto your hand, swirl the highlighter, and dab it onto the cheekbones. Blend and soften as needed.

Lips

Clean the lips with a makeup wipe to remove any oils, balm, or makeup.

Grab your lip stain pen and give it a good shake. Line the lips first, then fill them in using a thin, even coat. Let it dry completely so it stays in place.

Transfer-Proof Tip: Avoid all chapstick, lip balm, or lip gloss underneath or over the lip color. Keep the finish fully matte.

Final Touch

Finish the look by adding glitter spray to the hair. Shake the bottle well, hold it 4–6 inches from the head, and spray like hairspray. Keep the bottle moving so the glitter is evenly distributed.
