Eye Prep

Start by applying a thin layer of eyeshadow primer across the eyelid. This helps lock in the eyeshadow and keeps everything looking smooth and defined.

Next, lightly dust loose setting powder under the eyes. This step helps catch any fallout and makes cleanup quick and easy once the eyeshadow is complete.

Eyeshadow Look

Begin by choosing one of the matte eyeshadow shades as your base color. Use a fluffy brush to sweep it across the entire eyelid for a smooth, even base.

Next, add a highlight shade. You can spray a dome-shaped brush with setting spray or use your fingertip to pick up one of the shimmer highlight colors. Apply this shade along the brow bone and in the inner eye near the tear duct.

For more precise placement, spray a Q-tip with setting spray, pick up the highlight shade, and apply it directly to the inner corner of the eye and near the tear duct.

Use your fingertip to press the highlight shade onto the inner and middle lid.

Now apply a matte brown eyeshadow using a dome-shaped brush. Press it into the crease, then switch to a fluffy brush to blend the color softly through the crease.

Next, add black eyeshadow to the outer corner of the eye. Using the dome-shaped brush, press the color into the outer corner in a V shape.

Pro Tip: For a clean, sharp smokey edge, line your finger from the outer corner of your eye toward the outer edge of your eyebrow while pressing in the shadow.

Switch back to a fluffy brush and lightly blend the outer corner into the crease and toward the center of the lid to soften the transition.

To line the eyes, spray an angled liner brush with setting spray and apply the black eyeshadow along the lash line.

Go back in with the highlight shade using your fingertip and lightly pat it into the inner eye and just into the smokey area for a smooth blend between shades.

Use a fluffy brush to gently sweep over the eyelid and remove any loose eyeshadow.

If you applied setting powder under the eyes earlier, sweep it away now along with any remaining fallout.

Mascara

Apply two coats of mascara for added volume and definition.

Lips

Start by cleaning the lips with a makeup wipe to remove any oils, balm, or leftover makeup.

Apply your matte liquid lipstick. There are three shade options available to suit different skin tones. Line the lips first, then fill them in using a thin, even coat. Allow the lip color to dry completely for one to two minutes.

Transfer-Proof Tip: To keep the lip color in place, avoid all chapstick, lip balm, or lip gloss underneath or over the top. Leave the finish fully matte.

Optional Finishing Touches

For a little extra sparkle, apply shimmer gel to the temples. Use a Q-tip to pick up a tiny amount of product—this goes a long way. Unload it onto the back of your hand, swirl it with your fingertip, and dab it onto the temples in a soft C shape.

Shimmer gel has a lotion-like texture, so work it into the skin using a gentle dab-and-wipe motion. Using too much product can prevent it from setting, so start small.

Finish the look by applying lashes to frame the eyes. If you need help with application, be sure to check out the separate lash tutorial with all the tips and tricks.

Final Look

And that’s the completed Reach Athletics Makeup Look—clean, polished, and ready for competition. Sending you good vibes for all your competitions this season!
