Step 1: Prep Your Eyes
Start by applying a thin layer of eyeshadow primer across your eyelid. Primer helps lock in your eyeshadow and makes the colors appear more vibrant.
Next, dust a little loose setting powder underneath your eyes. This optional step catches eyeshadow fallout and makes cleanup much easier when you're finished.
Step 2: Apply the Natural Matte Base
Using a fluffy eyeshadow brush, pick up the natural matte eyeshadow and lightly dust it across your eyelid, blending slightly into the crease.
This creates a smooth, neutral base for the rest of the eyeshadow look.
Step 3: Blend Medium Brown into the Crease
Using a dome-shaped eyeshadow brush, pick up the medium brown shade and press it into the outer corner of your eye and along the crease.
Switch to a fluffy blending brush and gently sweep the color through the crease to soften the edges.
This adds dimension to the eye while keeping the look soft and natural.
Step 4: Create the Brown Smokey Outer Corner
Now it's time to add depth with the dark brown eyeshadow.
Using your dome-shaped brush, press the dark brown shade into the outer corner of your eye, creating a V shape.
Makeup Tip: For a clean, defined smokey eye, line up your finger from the outer corner of your eye toward the outer edge of your eyebrow. This creates a guide to help keep your eyeshadow edge sharp as you apply the color.
Switch back to your fluffy eyeshadow brush and lightly blend the dark brown into the crease and toward the center of the lid.
Blend gently so the brown shades transition smoothly.
Step 5: Add Frosty Shimmer to the Eyelid
Next, use your fingertip to pick up the frosty shimmer eyeshadow and gently pat it onto the center of your eyelid, working inward toward the inner corner.
You can also use a foam eyeshadow applicator instead of your fingertip to apply the shimmer across the lid.
Use a fluffy eyeshadow brush to lightly sweep across the eyelid and blend the colors together.
Step 6: Highlight the Inner Corner with Shimmer Gel
Now we're adding a little extra glow to the inner corner of the eye using Shimmer Gel.
Use a Q-tip to pick up a tiny amount of Shimmer Gel. Unload the product onto the back of your hand and swirl it around with the Q-tip.
Then gently dab and swirl the Shimmer Gel onto the inner corner of your eye near the tear duct.
Makeup Tip: A little Shimmer Gel goes a long way! This product has a lotion-like consistency, so apply it in a thin layer using a gentle dabbing motion. You can always add more if needed.
Step 7: Clean Up and Apply Mascara
If you applied loose setting powder underneath your eyes, gently sweep it away along with any eyeshadow fallout.
Finish your eye makeup with a couple of coats of mascara to add definition to your lashes.
Step 8: Apply Your Matte Liquid Lipstick
Before applying your lip color, use a makeup wipe to clean your lips and remove any oils, lip balm, or leftover makeup.
Using your matte liquid lipstick applicator, carefully outline your lips first. Then fill them in with a thin, even coat of color.
Allow the lipstick to dry completely for a couple of minutes. If needed, use a clean Q-tip to smooth or clean up the edges.
For the best transfer-proof results, avoid applying chapstick, lip balm, or lip gloss underneath or over the lipstick. These products can interfere with the dry matte finish and reduce the transfer-resistant properties of the lip color.
Step 9: Senior Team Only - Add Liquid Glitter Eyeliner
The Premier Athletics Senior Team has one additional step to complete their competition makeup look.
Using liquid glitter, carefully line underneath the lower lash line, starting at the outer corner and working inward toward the inner corner.
For more precision, you can use an angled eyeliner brush to apply the liquid glitter underneath the eye.
If needed, use a clean Q-tip to remove any extra product and clean up the edges.
This final step adds extra sparkle and definition to the Senior Team's makeup look.
