Five Star Elite Cheer Makeup Tutorial

This cheer makeup look for Five Star Elite features a blend of pink and purple eyeshadow, a full lid of purple glitter, and a matte liquid lip that stays put on the mat.

Step 1: Prep the Eyes

Start by applying a thin layer of primer across the entire eyelid. This helps lock in your eyeshadow and keeps the color looking fresh through practices and performances.

Next, dust loose setting powder under your eyes. This step is optional but very helpful. It catches any fallout from the eyeshadow and makes cleanup quick and easy once the eye look is finished.

Step 2: Light Shimmer Highlight

Use your fingertip to pick up the light shimmer eyeshadow shade. Press it gently onto your inner eyelid and around the tear duct to brighten the inner eye area.

Apply the same light shimmer to the brow bone to give a soft highlight under the eyebrow. This creates a nice contrast with the deeper colors you will add later.

Step 3: Matte Pink in the Crease

Use a dome-shaped brush to pick up the matte pink eyeshadow. Press the color into the crease and sweep it back and forth from the inner crease to the outer corner.

Switch to a fluffy brush and blend the pink shade through the crease so it looks soft and even. Repeat these steps on the other eye.

Step 4: Purple Shimmer Outer Corner

Now use the dome brush to pick up the purple shimmer eyeshadow. Press this shade into the outer corner of the eye in a V shape.

Switch back to the fluffy brush to blend the purple into the pink crease color. Keep the motion light so the colors soften together without losing the shape.

Tip: If you want a clean line on the outer edge of your smokey eye, line up your finger from the outer corner of your eye to the end of your eyebrow. Use that as a guide while pressing in the shadow.

Step 5: Purple Shimmer Across the Lid

Using your fingertip, pick up more of the purple shimmer shade. Press it across the eyelid from the inner lid to the middle and all the way to the outer corner so the entire lid has that purple shimmer color.

You can also use a foam applicator to apply the purple shade across the lid if you prefer more control.

Once the lid is covered, use the dome brush to blend the purple shadow from the lid up toward the crease so it meets the pink shade. Then take a fluffy brush and very lightly sweep across the lid to blend the colors together.

Step 6: Purple Glitter Eyeshadow

Now it is time to add the purple glitter. Place a small dot of clear eyeshadow primer onto the back of your hand and swirl it around. Then lightly pat some of that primer across the lid on top of the purple shimmer. This gives the glitter a base to stick to.

Use your fingertip to pick up a little of the purple glitter eyeshadow. Press it across the inner lid, middle lid, and outer lid so the glitter sits on top of the purple shimmer shade.

You can also pat the glitter into the primer on the back of your hand first and then transfer it across the lid. Add a little at a time until the glitter has an even layer across the lid and the purple sparkle shows clearly from inner to outer corner.

Step 7: Mascara and Cleanup

Apply mascara to the upper lashes. Two coats will add extra volume and help frame the eyes.

If you used loose setting powder under the eyes, sweep it away now along with any eyeshadow fallout. A large, soft brush works best for this step.

Step 8: Matte Liquid Lipstick

Use a makeup wipe to clean your lips so there is no oil, balm, or leftover makeup on them.

Grab your matte liquid lipstick. Start by lining your lips with the applicator to define the shape, then fill in the rest of your lips with a thin coat.

Let the lip color dry completely for a few minutes. To keep the lip color transfer protected, do not add chapstick, lip balm, or lip gloss underneath or on top. Leave it in its dry matte finish so it stays in place during routines.
